Drink it on Wednesday

From field to flask.

That’s the idea behind New York State’s Myer Farm Distillers, where they use organic grain from their organic farm to produce a number of spirits.  It’s a craft at it’s finest.

There are the standards of course: vodka and gin. And there are variations on a theme: white corn whiskey, ginger vodka, blueberry orange vodka.  And some things in the works: wheat whiskey, bourbon, rye.  All delicious.

If you’re a purist, reflect loosely on the labels.  Let go of all preconceptions of spirits.  Be open to innovative flavors. Revel in the home-grown operation, a true family business.  Look in awe of the still, it truly is a beauty.  And let’s not forget the quiet beauty of the lake and the region in which you sip.

Situated in the heart of the Finger Lakes region, in Ovid, NY, the distillery is right along the Cayuga Wine Trail on the west side of Cayuga Lake.
